Rethinking Appalachia: an installation devoted to the ingenuity and heart of Appalachian culture

Jenny is a multimedia artist and designer who focuses on reusing materials, particularly old or unsellable t-shirts. Her thesis work centers on the themes of caring for each other when material comforts are not available or accessible and building community in these circumstances.

Rest is inspired by weaver bird nest and made with reused materials. Viewers are invited to collaborate with me by putting fabric and yarn scraps inside instead of sending them to the landfill.
