Shepherd's Son
Struck by grief on the edge of a field in the highlands Simeon is shocked by the terror of his life. He searches for relief in his God who glistens above all things. A bright light swallows his past and future and he cries out from the pain of silver fire. At the edge of his vision he can still see his family. The record of pain is all they share. It sits on their skin as a crust or light. It cannot be escaped. History weighs on them all as a shadow, it grows in their hearts and threatens to ooze out from their pores. They all might collapse before the day is through.
