MA Teaching + Learning in Art + Design

Student Teaching

Willow moved to Rhode Island in the summer of 2025 after graduating with a BFA in Ceramics from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Teaching has been a lifelong dream of hers, and she has hoped to teach high school ceramics. She worked with the RISD CE Summer Program, helping teach classes on Interior Design and Fashion Construction to teenagers. She then spent the fall working collaboratively with The Steel Yard in Providence to organize community art events. She is in the MAT program, earning a K-12 teaching credential alongside her Master's degree, with the goal of entering public education. Her first student teaching placement was at International Charter School in Pawtucket, where she taught grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Her second student teaching placement was at Lincoln High School in Lincoln, where she taught Art 1, Ceramics 1, and Ceramics 2.
